I am a biologist, mother, counselor and generally quirky and fun human being. I am a registered professional counselor through the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association. My interests are varied, from addictions and recovery to animal assisted therapy.
Much of my work in the area of biology has been in the connection of humans to the rest of the animal kingdom (or lack thereof). I have written extensively on these sorts of topics, and you can find my latest book here. I’m currently writing a new book in the ‘Wild’ series, this one all about the vast meanings of motherhood in nature.
In addition to my work in psychology and biology, I’m a mom of 5 children, one dog and one cat. I have a strange obsession with candy and food decorations, and I am very good at candy crush. Despite being an accomplished professional, I maintain the ability to be silly. I think there’s a lot to be said about that.
